For anyone looking for a medical assistant program in Orange County, then the American Career College in Anaheim is likely the school for you. This program, like all of ACC’s campuses, offers diploma’s to medical assistants upon graduation.

For this campus, their program lasts 9 months, but if you’re in a hurry to graduate and enter the job market, ACC does offer its students an accelerated medical assistant program. That will take you 6.5 months to complete. Program lengths do vary based on schedule and other factors, however.

ACC also offers students a Medical Coding and Billing program, as well.

Angeles College works on a “rolling schedule,” so students can essentially apply to and enter any “module” at any point, which is very convenient. Morning and evening classes are offered, as well.

The program’s cost is broken down into a variety of different categories. It will cost you $50 to register. Then, books and equipment will cost students $1,458.50. Finally, tuition itself is $10,386.00. In total, you can expect to pay about $11,900 for Angeles College’s medical assistant program. In-house scholarships and Federal financial aid is available to students who qualify to receive it, however.

At Anthem College, students can earn a diploma in medical assisting. In fact, the diploma program is actually designed to allow students to continue their training and education in the schools’ Medical Office Administrator Associate’s Degree program.

Bryman is a medical assistant program at designed to last about 8 months in length.

In San Jose, Bryan offers a medical assistant diploma program to its students. The program itself will cost you $16,300 for tuition and fees, and then another $1,452 for books and fees.

The medical assisting program at Bryman’s Los Angeles program is very similar to the San Jose campus, but the cost students have to pay is different. Here, the diploma program will cost students $21,388 for tuition and fees. Book and other supplies are an additional charge, and you should expect to pay approximately $1,592.

Cabrillo offers students the ability to earn a certificate or an Associate in Science Degree. The certificate requires 36.5 units, while the degree program is 60 units.

Cabrillo likes to boast, and rightfully so, that they are one of five schools in Northern California that are nationally accredited (by the CAHEEP).

California College of Vocational Careers doesn’t provide information on how long their medical assisting program lasts, or how much it costs. But they do go into detail about what you’ll learn.

Your training will cover medical assisting and professionalism ethics, EKG’s, CPR, OSHA and CLIA standards, and more. Your externship, which will come at the end of your program, is designed to last 160 hours.

Graduates of Carrington College California will receive either a Certificate of Achievement or an Associate of Science degree in medical assisting. The certificate program is designed to be completed in as little as nine months. The degree program, however, will take longer to complete.

  • Carrington College California – Pleasant Hill, CA

The Pleasant Hill campus is very similar to the Citrus Heights campus at CCC. Students have the choice of the certificate or degree program, and the certificate program can be finished in nine months.

  • Carrington College California – San Leandro , CA

At San Leandro, students can pursue a Certificate in Achievement in Medical Assisting. This program can be completed in nine months. The school also offers an Associate in Science degree, which will take several more months to complete.

  • Carrington College California – Stockton, CA

Through a mix of practical training and hands-on experience in clinical settings, Carrington College California in Stockton prepares its students for work inside a physician’s office, hospital, and other similar settings. At this campus, you can complete the certificate program in nine months. To earn a degree, however, you will have to stay in school for a substantially longer amount of time.

When you graduate Casa Loma College, you will receive a diploma in Medical Assisting. The college does a great job of informing students of the cost of their program, as well.

For instance, students can expect $7,600 for tuition, and just over $792 for books and fees. In total, when you also include fees for clothing (proper uniformed attire), a watch, a stethoscope, physical examination and immunization fees and more, the cost of this medical assisting program runs just over $10,000.

CLC’s Hawthorne campus offers students a 9 month diploma program for medical assistants. And if you’re wondering how much the program cost, it’s safe to say that you should set aside over $10,000 for tuition and book fees.

With that said, if you qualify for financial aid, you may not be burdened with that entire financial responsibility.

Class sizes at Van Nuys, and all the Casa Loma College medical assistant programs, are limited to 24 eager students. The school offers students a diploma program that can be completed in nine months.

Between tuition fees, textbooks, and program fees (a background check, Moodle Online Course fee, Mal-Practice insurance, RMA application and certification fee, and an AAMA membership cost), the price for the Van Nuys medical assistant program is $10,461.00. Financial aid is available to students who need it, however.

Chabot College offers its medical assistant students two options in terms of training and education. You can opt to earn a certificate in medical assisting, or stay in school longer to receive an Associate in Science degree.

The college suggests that before you take their MA program, you should take classes such as CPR, Health 51A, and a computer class.

The school also gives prospective students some much needed information of what you can expect from their classes. For example, Chabot College tells you that you will be giving injections and drawing blood, and that you should be comfortable doing this. And although most medical assistants in the country are women, no perfume is allowed at Chabot College.

The City College of San Francisco is interesting, because they offer students so many different pathways to enter the medical assisting career.

For example, you can earn an Associate in Science Degree in both Medical Office Assisting and Medical Administrative Assisting. However, you can also earn a Certificate of Achievement in Medical Office Assisting, Medical Receptionist, Medical Biller, Medical Evaluation Assistant.

The CNI medical assisting program offers students a diploma upon graduation. Students end up clocking 900 hours worth of education and training. On top of that, at the conclusion of the program, students participate in a 160-hour externship.

Cosumnes River College offers students a certificate of achievement in medical assisting, as well as an Associate in Science degree.

ESGVROP offers students Certificate of Achievement in medical assisting upon graduation. You will then be eligible to take the AAMA and state certification examination—but only if you successfully complete 735 hours of instruction in the classroom and an externship lasting 210 hours.

The Anaheim campus offers students a diploma program. It will cost you over $23,000 to attend this program, a cost that includes both tuition and textbooks. Financial aid is indeed available if you need it.

At Alhambra, Everest College offers a diploma in medical assisting. The cost of tuition is $21,388, which doesn’t include the cost of textbooks.

The Gardena campus offers students a diploma program that is designed to last 41 weeks in length.

The program at San Bernardino is similar to the Gardena, Alhambra, and Anaheim campuses, but the price of the program is cheaper. While you can expect to earn a diploma at the conclusion of the program, students are expected to pay “only” $17,794 in tuition, while books and supplies will run $1,792. The program is designed to be about 41 weeks long.
