The Shreveport campus in Louisiana also allows students to earn an Associate’s Degree at Career Tech College. Here, the length of the program, as well as the tuition, is identical to the Monroe campus listed above.

  • Eastern College of Health Vocations – Shreveport

8932 Jewella Avenue

Both the New Orleans and Shreveport campus programs are accredited by the ABHES. And what’s nice about this particular school is that, unlike other programs, the cost of textbooks at Eastern College is automatically included in the tuition fee.

Baton Rouge, LA 70809

Fortis offers a diploma program to their students. The cost of the program, when you add in tuition, fees, and textbooks, is approximately $15,000. The program lasts 36 weeks.

2500 Williams Boulevard
Kenner, LA 70062

Herzing provides two educational tracks for students at Kenner. The first track is a diploma program, which can be completed in 48 weeks. The cost of that program is $19,185.

The second track is an Associate’s Degree. This program, which requires additional education, takes 80 weeks to finish. You will be required to pay $30,625 for tuition.

Neither the diploma program, nor the degree program, requires its students to pay additional costs for textbooks.

9501 Cortana Place
Baton Rouge, LA 70815

Students are able to choose either a diploma program or an Associate’s Degree program at the Baton Rouge campus of Virginia College. The Associate’s Degree program lasts 88 weeks and costs approximately $36,100. There’s no additional cost for textbooks.

The diploma program is shorter, as it’s designed to be completed within 44 weeks. Tuition will cost you $18,100, and like the degree program, you aren’t expected to pay extra for textbooks. And following graduation, you will be eligible to take the certification test to ultimately become either a Certified Medical Assistant (via the AAMA) or a Registered Medical Assistant (via the AMT).
